Keen to understand as to why Apple Gift Cards go on sale this frequently in 2024. Will this last after iPhone 16 goes live after the incoming September event?
Also vaguely remember they used to run 15% off sales in the past years, but this years there hasn't been any. Anyone reckon this will ever come back in this year?

I don't get it. Why do you need to understand why they're frequently on sale, rather than just accepting the steady rate of discounted GC's?
And no, the 15% and 20% off days died when they removed the iTunes GC's from circulation.
xmagic on 13/08/2024 - 02:51
Coles's online gift card website used to have a batch of 15% off Apple GC in post-iTunes GC era. But yes, other than that one time, all others are either 10% off directly or 10% worth of points.

I prolly just have worded it in a negative tone, which I didn't realise. I just want to learn the reason behind so that I can make better decisions as to if I should skip this one. But thanks to another comment down below saying they don't run GC promotions near when iPhone's released, so it's a good idea to stack a few now.

These 20x points offers on Apple gift cards have been just as common this year as they were last year and the year before. However, it's worth noting that in both 2022 and 2023 they didn't run any in September and October so this could possibly be the last one for a while.
OzBerghainer on 12/08/2024 - 18:07
Hmm, could gamble and wait before iPhone 16 but safest bet is locking in $2k worth now. Might grab these tomorrow

Wouldn't you be better off using your 28 degrees card for when someone invariably starts with the grey imports?

is it better to buy at apple?
i bought last time at jb hifi with gift cards that they accept.
i signed up with the telstra phone plan for 2 years $79 a month and i think also got a $1200 gift card to use on the new iphone at the time. my 2 years is up now, and was looking to get the new iPhone again.whats the best route to go?
OzBerghainer on 16/08/2024 - 11:58
port away from telstra ASAP onto optus/voda prepaid and make sure your telstra account is finalised and paid off. then next month go back into JB and port back in for another GC

Frowned by them(who's them)

fry888chip on 12/08/2024 - 20:16
I’ve used my AMEX to buy the gift cards with no problem

"Have read before that using amex to pay for gift cards (and thereby gaining points) is frowned upon by them." Yet you provide no evidence for your claim.

Definitely time to get $2.5k in vouchers for the new iPhone.
This is nice actually with variable load.

LOL I know iPhone prices have been hitting crazy levels, but it took reading your comment there to realise just how nuts its gotten. I can't believe we're at a point where thats what a flagship costs
gooner15 on 12/08/2024 - 23:30
Does this stack with Everyday Extra where you get 2x the points?

I bought enough to buy a $2,300 MacBook Air last month. That's still cheaper than most iPhone Pro models!

How often is this and Google Play gift cards available at WW? Thanks
PoopMyPants on 14/08/2024 - 12:10
I don’t see this in my rewards app. Is it automatically activated now or something?
ULT on 14/08/2024 - 15:59
The offer was not in mine either but i still dropped 1.5k on the variable GCs and the printed reciept confirmed I had collected 30k points. App now also confirms I had received 30k points so you do not have to activate anything in the app it seems.
enigma48 on 15/08/2024 - 15:40
It’s advertised in store and doesn’t need activation

All the stores I tried today were sold out by midday, do they tend to restock cards during these promos?
mayak76 on 14/08/2024 - 22:14
+2
They were not sold out. They took them off the shelves. I bought 5 cards worth over $2K to pay for a macbook in the Highett Woolies this morning, but when I tried to use them, only one worked! The other 4 had different numbers on the card and on the wrapping with the barcode. I went back to the store, they said a few other people had the same issue, and they took all cards off the shelf. Told me to contact their gift card dept to get an authorisation for a refund. I then went to the Moorabbin store, they already took them off the shelf as well, as they had the same issue. But the manager was nice enough to go through the cards she took off the shelf with me, open a few of them up and pick the legit ones. I bought those, then got the refund for the dodgy 4 I bought originally. I ended up with $380 worth of reward points. 😅
ddddddddddd on 19/08/2024 - 08:59
How do you know if one's are legit or not? Other than if it was sealed?
abcde090 on 14/08/2024 - 22:57
Can i buy variable cards in multiple transactions per day now ? I remembered in the last promotion, it mentioned that for the variable card where you choose the amount to load, limit of 10 cards per day per Rewards Member in a single transaction.

Absolutely no stock in every woolies i could get to during my lunch break today.
comebuthkism on 16/08/2024 - 09:33
None available in 4 Melbourne CBD Woolies both yesterday and again this morning.
mayak76 on 16/08/2024 - 10:55
I think all Woolies took them off the shelves on the day the promo started, because too many cards were already tampered with. That's what happened to me.
OzBerghainer on 16/08/2024 - 14:33
Plenty of stock at my local. Picked up $2.2k for iPhone season = 22k QFF points
OzLocutus on 17/08/2024 - 11:59
Queanbeyan NSW was out of variable cards and seemed short on all other values when I went there this morning.
Jerrabomberra NSW had plenty of all the cards. Just got $2.7k worth…hopefully enough for Iphone 16 Pro Max 512gb or equivalent!
$2,000 was the max per transaction, but was able to process $2,000 and $700 separately.
Redeemed them all with no problems.
sjaeger172004 on 17/08/2024 - 17:24
Can we our 10% off shop with this as well thanks
WookieMonster on 17/08/2024 - 17:31
I highly doubt it.
It is against the terms and conditions of a 10% monthly discount to use it on the purchase of gift cards.
Someone last week tried the apply their 10% discount on other types of gift cards at Woolworths, but the checkout did not allow this.
GEE-SHOCK on 18/08/2024 - 17:16
Top Ryde WWS still has variable values of Apple gift cards left as I checked this arvo guys. Just purchased a $30 one and the 600 points were instant!
